What can Print in City do for you?
“Since it’s so easy to access professional quality print services, I can get high-quality examples of client work printed all around Europe, wherever I’m working.”
Canon Print in City
Perfect for use in libraries, on campus, or shared working spaces
Where the public or users are external to your network, in places such as libraries, universities, cafes and co-working spaces, we can help you provide a secure, reliable print service that your IT team doesn’t need to touch. That means it’s completely self-service for the end user, from registration, to print, to payment, while having the flexibility to take cash or e-wallets means organisations can be fully inclusive and help people from all generations – from people making copies of a letter from their grandchildren, or digital-native teenagers printing their science thesis.
Simple and intuitive
The new print share solution is a public print, scan, and copy service. Users can print directly from their computer or mobile device and securely retrieve jobs from the nearest Print in City device – which they can find on an online map. It's easy to view prices per location and job, print with no staff involvement, and pay with online credit.

Share your corporate devices
Do you have underused devices in customer-facing areas? Want to share these so the public can print, but don’t want your staff tied up registering users, submitting customer files, or showing users how to print, copy and scan? Keen to avoid unnecessary coinboxes and handling of cash – but also to retain the flexibility to take cash if needed? Expecting advanced security as a given without making your valuable IT staff run and maintain the service? Then Print in City, available exclusively on compatible Canon devices, could be right for you.
Benefits for institutions
Use your existing Canon fleet, or bolt onto new devices – either way, it’s secure and simple.
Service provision
Many services today need to be self-sufficient. One way to achieve this is adding a revenue-generating service that can even help to pay for other services. That’s why Print in City lets you keep 100% of the revenue.
Ease of use
If a service is hard to use, people will abandon it. With over 20,000 users so far, Print in City is fast becoming the print service of choice for Canon devices. With no need for front desk or IT support to run the service, it is open for use for as long as your doors are open.
Cloud-based security
As a cloud-based service, Print in City uses SHA-256 with RSA encryption, and is securely hosted on Microsoft Azure servers across Europe. It communicates directly with Print in City enabled multifunction devices, without needing on-premise servers, release stations or third-party tablets.
The internal job flow is separate from corporate jobs as well.
Subscription-based
Simply choose how many devices to make available and then apply the monthly subscription costs. All revenues are securely transmitted to your nominated bank account monthly with full job reconciliation.

Frequently Asked Questions – owners
-
How much IT involvement will this need?
The system is fully installed and managed by us as part of your annual subscription, either across your entire fleet, or on selected Canon devices.
-
Do I get paid when somebody uses my devices?
Yes – each month we transfer the usage fees to your nominated account.
This is determined by the number of copies / prints / scans – multiplied by the pricing you set. We don’t subtract anything from this. -
Are my devices secure?
Yes, the Print in City system is fully segmented – other Print in City users have no access to your jobs, settings, or networks, and your staff can’t access Print in City jobs.
-
Is there any third-party equipment needed on my site, such as coin boxes, tablets, or release stations?
None at all – the solution is fully self-contained on the Canon device, including reading and accepting the terms and conditions.
-
What if I need to accept cash at some of my sites?
There is an option to accept cash if you offer that service, with full reconciliation.
-
Who controls the prices I charge customers?
You have full control of what pricing levels you set for each location.
