London, UK, 4 April 2025. Canon has resolved a potential security vulnerability threat related to some of its printer drivers, which could potentially impact a number of its office multifunction, laser and production printers. This threat, could cause a security issue, including preventing further printing, should a malicious print job be processed by a vulnerable print server.
Canon resolves security vulnerability impacting printer drivers
With the security of customers’ print infrastructure being of critical importance, when Canon was alerted to this issue, immediate action was taken. On 28th March, an updated printer driver, for V3.15 drivers and later versions, was provided on Canon Europe’s business support pages as well as to local pages. Customers are encouraged to download this new software in order to fix the issue.
