How to set the CD-R tray on my PIXMA iP4000?

Solution

  1. Confirm that the printer is powered on.
  2. Open the paper output tray and inner cover (CD-R tray feeder). Memo: Gently open the paper output tray while holding it.
  3. Place the CD-R/DVD-R on the CD-R tray. Memo: Prepare a 12 cm/8 cm size CD-R/DVD-R with an ink-jet compatible label surface.

Procedures for setting a 12 cm CD-R/DVD-R

Place the disk on the CD-R tray, with the printable surface facing up.

Note: Do not touch the reflectors on the CD-R tray.

Procedures for setting an 8 cm CD-R

Align the protrusions on both edges of the 8 cm CD-R adapter with the indentations on the CD-R tray, and place the 8 cm CD-R on the CD-R tray.

Note: When printing on an 8 cm CD-R, use the 8 cm CD-R adapter (provided). Otherwise, print quality will be reduced and the CD-R may be damaged.

Note: Do not touch the reflectors on the CD-R tray.

  • Install the CD-R tray in the inner cover.

Memo: When printing on a CD-R/DVD-R using an application, do not set the CD-R tray until the "Starting printable disc printing" message is displayed.

If the CD-R tray is set while the printer is preparing to print or performing other operations, the CD-R tray may be ejected. In this case, re-set the CD-R tray, following the instruction displayed.

  • Insert the CD-R tray so that the arrows of both the CD-R tray and inner cover are aligned. (Check the arrow position of the CD-R tray and inner cover.)
