There is a yellow exclamation mark (!) next to my digital still camera in Device Manager. When I select Properties I get the message: "Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)".

This error code is often caused by other USB devices, especially by scanners.

If there is a scanner connected to your PC, please disconnect it and access your camera again. If this does not work, uninstall the driver of your scanner and try to access your digital camera again.
